Category: About Us

Welcome to the website of the Lancashire and Cheshire Western Front Association

We are the local branch of the Association, a national educational charity, and are based in Stockport, Manchester.

Through the work of the Association, we aim to educate the public about the Great War, as it was known at the time, though today we would use such terms as World War One or WW1. We do not seek to justify or glorify warfare. We are not a re-enactment society, nor are we commercially motivated and we are entirely non-political.

Please see the various sub-heading for information about the WFA at local and National level. Our meetings are listed under 'Branch Meetings' in the menu to the left. The details of where the meetings are held are listed under 'Venue', which is a sub menu underneath 'About Us'

Our latest monthly newsletter is published here
